Holly at NTEN just tweeted a link to How to Explain Cloud Computing to Your CFO, which reviews a Forrester report about communicating the financial benefits of cloud computing. (Ken's been talking about the benefits the user, here)
Interesting points:
- Adoption of cloud computing applications doesn't require large capital outlays at start up. The model is usually pay as you go, so that you aren't investing a huge amount of money on a system that may not work.
- Cloud computing allows organizations to quickly outsource non-critical applications to that IT staff can focus on the more critical ones (like CMS, I imagine).
