LSNTAP, Everlaw for Good, and OpenAI Academy Launch Three-Part AI Webinar Series for Legal Aid Professionals
Three-session series will explore AI fundamentals, practical workflows, and responsible AI use in legal aid organizations.
Ypsilanti, MI — The Legal Services National Technology Assistance Project (LSNTAP), Everlaw for Good, and OpenAI Academy are partnering to present a free three-part webinar series designed specifically for legal aid and access-to-justice professionals seeking to better understand and responsibly use artificial intelligence in their work.
The series, which will be held on three consecutive Wednesdays in July, will provide participants with practical guidance ranging from foundational ChatGPT skills to advanced workflows and ethical considerations for AI use in legal services organizations.
"Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming part of the technology landscape for legal aid organizations," said Shellie Reid, Program Director of LSNTAP. "This series is designed to help legal aid professionals understand the technology, identify practical uses, and engage thoughtfully with the opportunities and responsibilities that come with AI adoption."
The webinar series includes:
AI Foundations for Legal Aid Professionals
July 15, 2026 | 1:00–2:00 p.m. Eastern
This introductory session will provide a practical overview of ChatGPT and other generative AI tools. Participants will learn how AI can support research, drafting, analysis, and organizational tasks while maintaining professional responsibility and client trust. The session will include examples relevant to legal aid workflows and guidance on developing effective prompting techniques.
Applied AI Workflows for Legal Aid
July 22, 2026 | 1:00–2:00 p.m. Eastern
Building on the introductory session, this workshop will explore practical AI workflows for drafting, summarization, planning, outreach, information organization, and operational support. Attendees will learn how to move beyond one-off prompts and develop repeatable processes that can improve efficiency while maintaining appropriate human oversight.
Responsible Use and AI Ethics in Legal Aid
July 29, 2026 | 1:00–2:00 p.m. Eastern
The final session will focus on the responsible use of AI within legal aid organizations. The discussion will explore ethical considerations, governance, confidentiality, risk management, professional responsibility, and organizational decision-making related to AI adoption.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Gloria Lee, Chief Legal Officer of Everlaw, and is expected to feature Angela Tripp, Program Officer for Technology at the Legal Services Corporation; Bridget McCormack, President and CEO of the American Arbitration Association and former Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court; and Rich Leimsider, Director, AI for Nonprofits Sprint.
The series reflects a growing interest in how AI can help legal aid organizations serve more clients and improve operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality, ethics, and client service.
The webinars are open to legal aid staff, technologists, advocates, administrators, and others working in the access-to-justice community.
