Every day across the country and beyond, there are professionals working in the legal aid non-profit community whose roles cross over into the legal tech area. These roles include IT professionals, accidental techies, legal practitioners, legal aid management, and more. We want to introduce our members to people that are working in the trenches getting things done so that they feel that community spirit and know that they are not alone.
This session focuses on how to create tech training for staff. Guest speakers Ellen Samuel, Michael Hernandez, and Terry Lawson discuss how to decide what training is needed, how to meet the learning style needs of staff, where to find resources, and more.
Please note that although the material are focused on tech training, much of the material is applicable to creating any kind of training.

Today we held a webinar covering what all goes into creating and using a tech disaster plan. We started by thinking about four scenarios that exemplify the major kinds of disasters, loss of data, loss of power, loss of senior or key staff, and a breach. From there we look at some things that you will need to think about when coming up with a plan for each of these situations. Some of the more interesting things we covered included things like what is an acceptable level of downtime and how much risk are you willing to take on.
