Hello everyone!
Traditionally, journals have been read-only. Publishers would print out their volumes and ship them to their subscribers. Sharing was done in person, if at all, and there was little engagement. Now, however, there is a shift to reading nearly everything on the web. Journals, to stay alive and competitive, have needed to embrace modern trends.
Technology is accessible when designed to understand the needs of individuals with impaired abilities, and developed to create universal compatibility between users and computer systems. Assistive Technology is often the merger between people seeking to operate software, and programmers, who are developing the services being offered to the public.
Well, summer is ending, and so is this fellowship.
Starting August 14th, LSNTAP is suppending help desk untill a new coordinator appointed. LSNTAP will still do live online trainings & host the LSNTAP Email list.
In this webinar we explore some of the recurring features that are found throughout the Office suite. This is an entry level training and is open to all legal aid professionals.

Legal Services Vermont (LSV) and Atlanta Legal Aid Society (ALAS) developed a web accessibility toolkit as part of their TIG-funded projects to enhance their statewide legal help websites. The organizations partnered with a consultant, David Berman Communications, to explore and implement best practices for making their website accessible to people with disabilities.

We're hosting a virtual event to update the community on LSNTAP since Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) took the reins this year, connect the legal aid technology community, and provide the opportunity to get feedback from the community. This event will also include presentations by Nicole Golden-Bouchard about Stateside Legal (statesidelegal.org) and by Margaret Hagan about Legal Issues Taxonomy (LIST) (https://taxonomy.legal).
Meet LaDierdre McKinney, LSNTAP’s manager. Before joining LSNTAP, she was a Staff Attorney at Michigan Legal Help Program. She was responsible for creating many of the resources hosted on the Michigan Legal Help website, including guided interviews. We're excited for her leadership and dedication to increasing access to justice through legal technology.
