Tech Assistance Program

LSNTAP Technical Assistance Program

LSNTAP’s Technical Assistance Program is designed to support legal aid organizations in planning and implementing technology-related projects. We provide expert guidance to help you navigate the complexities of adopting and deploying technology in the legal field. Our program emphasizes informed decision-making while considering reporting and funding requirements.

Program Overview

Eligibility
Legal aid programs are eligible to participate in LSNTAP’s Technical Assistance Program. Each program can receive up to 10 hours of assistance every six months.

How to Request Assistance
To get started, complete the LSNTAP Technical Assistance Request Form. This form collects the essential details of your request. Please be as specific as possible to help us better understand your needs. Once your request is submitted, LSNTAP will contact you within three business days to discuss next steps.

Types of Technical Assistance

We offer the following types of assistance to help legal aid programs successfully implement and manage technology projects:

1. Project Planning

Proper planning is critical for the success of any technology project. Our planning assistance often includes the following:

  • Conducting needs assessments
  • Designing project plans
  • Ensuring system sustainability

Note: LSNTAP does not manage projects but provides guidance to help you plan effectively.

2. Vendor Selection

Choosing the right vendor is essential for project success. LSNTAP can help you:

  • Research potential vendors
  • Narrow down options based on your specific needs and budget
  • Draft and distribute Requests for Proposals (RFPs)

Note: LSNTAP does not evaluate vendor proposals.

3. Usability Testing

We assist with usability testing and UX design to improve project outcomes. This includes:

  • Developing strategies tailored to your project
  • Ensuring your technology effectively serves target communities

4. Security

Our team provides guidance on high-level security planning, including:

  • Capturing, storing, and sharing client data securely
  • Meeting grant requirements for data and technology security

Whether you’re starting from scratch or need help with next steps, we’re here to assist.

5. Training and User Adoption

Successful technology implementation requires training and user adoption strategies. LSNTAP can help you:

  • Create a training roadmap for new technologies
  • Develop strategies to encourage user adoption
  • Locate existing training resources

As capacity allows, we may expand our offerings to include additional types of technical assistance.
